Deadlock Studiodiary 2008 - Exklusive Special @ sounds2move.de!

Hi, you guys / The master tape's ready!!!

What an inhuman odyssey this was consisting of sleep deprivation, neurotic guitar perfectionsim, depressions and excesses of anti alcoholic beer… But we think the work was worthwhile! Everything turned out the way we attended and dreamed of. Great sound, great songs, great shit!!!

Some days ago we had the official listening session. Mr. Rutten was also there, he has become even more personable to me. ;) Especially after the rear-end collision in the "deadly bend". But we will give you more details on this in the official listeing report of the s2m-elite. Check this shit!

As noted the "Manifesto" master tape is in our hands now and so it's time to say goodbye. First we want to thank all stuff members of s2m and ist always relaxed head-editor Markus Rutten for the great support and engagement. It really was fun, you freaks! And of course we may not forget to thank all those people who read this shit. You will enjoy our new album "Manifesto", we promise you that.

As we say in Bavaria: Servus alte Brez’n!

Welcome!

DONE!

Last week we finally got it! Long sleepless nights, anger about the annoying colleagues of the band called male and female singers, time lags and endless hours of editing are now a thing of the past. Just like after a hard accouchement all pain and suffering are gone with the first sight (listening) of the baby.

Our drummer drummer Tobi also came home last week worn out but with good results. The drums just sound great! Parallel to the rum recordings in Denmark we also hat to finish the vocal sessions here at home. Thus it wasn't possible for me to attend the mixing session. But Jacob aka Hans-Jakob (Jacob Hansen) is already sending in the first rough mixes and the communication via email also works out faultlessly – except for our very "German-Danish" English…

See you

Dear Spectators,

Guitar und bass-recordings are finally finished! Yippie! We got it…also all Synthie-Parts and the whole techno shit are prepared, so that Jacob "H.P. BECKSter" Hansen can work on the Soundtrack for your next Ballermann holidays.

As our female singers are so reliable, we decided to release an instrumental album. After our reunion in 2034 you can expect a remastered version containing vocals… No, just kidding, vocal-parts will also be finished this week and you can prepare for a bomb as you can see in the studio picture. ;-). Sabine did some steps forward, not only as far as her singing is concerned, also optically she canged a lot for the better.

Cheers!

Yo People,

There's been a lot going on during last week and we experienced some unusual days! We were visited by an old colleague from electronic music, namely Michael Popp and he was working a bit on synths and electronic parts with me. And I can promise you: The results are really awesome! Who was Scooter again?

And our first vocal parts are finished, and I am over the moon with the results so far. Our very much reliable (irony!) singers Sabine und Joe are doing a heck of a job. Also here we can promise you some new and interesting styles. And also the bass and guitar recordings will soon be in its final steps. I think we'll be finishing them by the beginning of next week.

…let's get on with it…

Hyper, Hyper!

Hey,

dear friends of avantgarde-jazz, this is Sebastian from Tech-pop-band DEADLOCK. The galaxy's best and most intellectual musical-portal sounds2move.de and DL want to give you an insight into the crazy studio world behind the scenes of the damn good looking musicians ;-) .  In this first edition of the s2m/DL studio diary we want to tell you something about the procedure of creating a CD. Here we go:

The recording concept of our new album is to record the drums at the end, because we only have one recording date at Jacob Hansen in Denmark who will do the work. This means that drum recordings and mixing should be taking place back to back after the recording. Guitars, bass, vocals and all the keyboard shit will be recorded in our own studio "Slaughter's Palace". Of course we've also recorded so-called "pilot drum tracks" by ourselves, in order to be able to record all the other things first. At the moment I am just finishing the first songs on guitar and optimizing the keys of the pre-recording sessions. Maybe you can imagine the complexity and lavishness of some of the work steps. But still it's lots of fun to be involved in the whole process and the songwriting right from the very beginning with the highest possible variability and the best technology. And it is possible to optimize different ideas and sounds interactively and during a long process.

Next week we will start with the vocal sessions, parallel to guitar recordings, provided that these dumbasses of band colleagues will be here. ;)

'til then. Directly from the Palace

Sebastian / Deadlock
